The Fall Kill is a 14-mile long creek running through the heart of Poughkeepsie, New York. Get involved and learn about the initiative to protect and enhance this vital public resource for the community.
THE FALL KILL
The Fall Kill is a creek that runs through the Northside of Poughkeepsie, New York—connecting neighborhoods and opportunities to experience nature in the city. Once central to the city’s growth, the creek has become polluted, difficult to access, and largely hidden from public view. Yet it remains home to diverse wildlife and holds tremendous potential to become a healthier, more accessible, and more connected public green space for the community.

Together, these efforts will strengthen neighborhoods, celebrate the creek as a shared public resource, and help shape a more resilient future for Poughkeepsie.
The project is led by Model of Architecture Serving Society (MASS), in partnership with the City of Poughkeepsie and a multidisciplinary team of local and regional experts in architecture, engineering, environmental restoration, and communications.
